Response to a Peer (secondary research)

I am responding to one of my peers who has a similar topic to mine, in which I talked about “creating a more sustainable future”. My peers’ post was titled “Climate Change is the Reality”, where she talks about what the problem is with climate change, how it is going to affect us and why we should pay more attention to it.

As she mentioned in her blog, some of the important factors that she makes us aware of is because, it is currently affecting each and everyone of us. There are no exceptions to who is affected by this in which I wanted to point out a interesting fact that she bought up where she mentions “This is important to all rising professionals because, they can help businesses make better choices to reduce CO2 emissions”. I wanted to go over this quote as I believe that I have mentioned something very similar in my blog, on how business owners should be one of the main groups that are to be focused on and targeted because they have the most ability to put the change in place.

As people who have more resources, they should be the ones making the changes but because the trend of capitalism still exists, we are unable to make these changes. In fact, one of her questions actually asks “What were the causes of such high increase of CO2 emissions?” I wanted to take a step ahead and use what I know to partially answer the question. One of the biggest reasons as to why CO2 is so high nowadays is because, of the petrol and diesel cars and public transportation that is being used.

My whole topic which is surrounded by sustainability which talks about why switching to more electric cars is a better option for the future all the while implementing more bikes and public transportation allows our air to be cleaner. Not only does it help reduce the long term effects of climate change but it has major health benefits like lower risk of getting respiratory diseases which can be corelated with the carbon emissions, less carbon monoxide related deaths, less car accidents and drunk drivers as electric cars are also sometimes self controlled.

Therefore, regarding my peers’ work, I believe it directly relates to what I also wrote about, but in a different perspective. I wrote more of the specific changes that we should make to change these unhealthy practices while my peer explained on the bigger idea of what climate change is and how it affects us.
